Vision of Yellow Sea Medical Biennial Symposium(YMBS)
Located between mainland China and the Korean Peninsula is the Yellow Sea. Into it flow both the Yangtze River and Han River, and all other rivers around this area. Trade has been active in the Chinese and North Korean portions of the sea, bringing economic development. The coasts of the Yellow Sea are very densely populated, with about 1/6 of the total world population concentrated in the costal area of the Yellow Sea. So naturally, there is a growing demand for medical service in this area.
So, based on the geographical and cultural features of this area, Yellow Sea Medical Biennial Symposium(YMBS) was arranged to improve the standard of medical knowledge and promote academic exchange and cooperation through sharing the knowledge and experience of the primary medical issues, transcending national boundaries.
Currently, symposiums on the issue of 'Neuroendovascular Treatment' and 'New Treatment of Metastatic Breast Cancer' are planned, and more symposiums will be held on diverse issues which are worth being discussed globally. YMBS hold each symposium with one issue biennially.
중국 동부 해안과 한반도 사이에 있는 바다 황해는 중국의 양쯔강과 한국의 한강을 비롯해 인근지역의 모든 강줄기가 모여드는 바다입니다.
황해를 둘러싸고 있는 중국과 한반도에서는 황해를 중심으로 많은 교역이 이뤄지고 있으며, 인구 분포상으로도 세계인구의 6분의 1이상의 인구가 밀집되어 있는 이 지역에 의료적인 수요 또한 점차 늘어나고 있는 추세입니다.
이러한 지리적, 문화적인 흐름에 맞추어 황해국제의학비엔날레는 황해 인근 지역의 국경을 넘나들어, 주요한 의료 이슈들을 중심으로 지식과 경험을 서로 공유함으로써 의료지식 수준을 높이고 의료적인 협력과 교류를 만들어나가기 위해 마련되었습니다. 황해국제의학비엔날레는 점차적으로 태평양 인근지역까지 뻗어가 의료교역의 글로벌화에 앞장서고, 의료 각 분야의 세계적인 전문가들의 지식공유와 교류의 장이 되는 것을 목표로 합니다.
현재, 2010년과 2011년에 뇌혈관 중재치료와 유방암을 주제로 한 심포지움을 준비하고 있으며, 앞으로 이 외에도 의료적 가치를 지니는 주제들로 더욱 다양하게 구성해나갈 계획입니다. 황해국제의학비엔날레(YMBS)는 각 주제별 심포지움이 매 2년마다 개최되는 비엔날레 형식의 심포지움입니다.
